Where is Marc?

Marco…Gasolo….Marco….Gasolo. These are the words being echoed throughout Memphis these days. Grizzlies’ fans are looking for their beloved Marc Gasol, yet he is no where to be found. Well, that is not entirely true. He is reportedly in Los Angeles right now. I don’t know what he is doing out there. I suppose he is working out, hanging with Pau, and talking to his agent. What I DO know is that the Grizzlies need him back in Memphis, signed, and practicing with the team. The Grizzlies MUST, repeat MUST have Gasol back in Memphis.

There are lots and lots of rumors flying around about Houston, sign-and-trades, and the Grizzlies. Reading the people who I think are in the know, they assure me (because people have assured them) that Marc will in fact be back with the Grizzlies, that he loves Memphis, and he went as Elvis for Halloween. Okay, maybe I made up one of those. Paranoid Ethan starting thinking yesterday afternoon, and he came to this logical conclusion: Marc wants to play with Pau. What?!! Surely you can’t be serious Paranoid Ethan. Surely you are simply being paranoid and reading WAAAAY too much into the sign-and-trade rumors. But when I saw that Pau was a breath away from being a Rocket one day and a few days later Marc is rumored to be heading there too…let’s just say it doesn’t seem too far fetched to me that the Brothers Gasol want to team up.

But, maybe I am way off. Maybe I have developed a defensive mechanism of assuming the worst case scenario play out in every possible situation due to living in Memphis and SEEING a lot of worst case scenarios play out here. (this happened) Here is hoping that Memphis and the Grizzlies can shed some of that “Memphis sucks” mentality off for just a little bit and make the smart move. Pay Marc whatever he wants. Just get him back.
